Elizabeth Brinson

Family Law Attorney

A National Champion trial advocate and former Public Defender. Brings courtroom-tested instincts to every family law case. A decade of pro bono service and deep Suwannee County roots ground her fierce, personal approach to advocacy.

The Path to Law

Originally from Merrick, New York, Elizabeth attended Bellmore John F. Kennedy High School, where she initially aspired to become a marine biologist. Following the events of September 11, 2001, she shifted her focus toward the law, driven by a deep sense of public service.

Elizabeth earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Southern Connecticut State University, where she excelled academically and competed as a member of the university's track team. She went on to attend Barry University School of Law, where she distinguished herself on the trial team and earned national recognition as a National Champion at the 2010 Michigan State National Trial Advocacy Competition.

During law school, Elizabeth gained extensive hands-on experience through internships with firms practicing criminal defense, DUI defense, and family law. She also served in the felony division of the Ninth Judicial Circuit Public Defender's Office and was a certified legal intern at the Barry University Juvenile Clinic, where she represented juveniles facing criminal charges.

Professional Experience

After graduating from law school, Elizabeth began her legal career as an Assistant Public Defender with the Third Judicial Circuit, representing indigent clients in felony and juvenile cases. She tried numerous cases, argued complex motions, and handled appellate matters, including a Writ of Habeas Corpus before the First District Court of Appeal.

For more than a decade, Elizabeth has also been deeply committed to pro bono service through Three Rivers Legal Services (TRLS), assisting in serving some of Florida's most vulnerable individuals since 2013, handling landlord-tenant disputes, advance directives, and family law issues. Even after entering private practice in 2021, she has continued this work. She previously served on the Board of Directors for Three Rivers Legal Services, as a committee member on the Florida Bar Juvenile Rules Committee, and is active in the Florida Association of Women Lawyers, the American Bar Association, the Florida Adoption Council, and as a former member of the Judicial Nominating Committee for the Third Judicial Circuit. She is also a current member and past President of Altrusa International, Inc., Live Oak Chapter.

Today, Elizabeth brings her extensive trial experience, public-service background, and strategic advocacy to her family law practice. She is committed to providing strong, personalized representation and ensuring her clients feel informed, supported, and fiercely advocated for throughout their legal matters.
